The great sage Sri Aurobindo describes supra-conscious dreaming – what he also describes as subliminal consciousness as it is affecting us day and night – having infinite capacity, as it has access to infinite knowledge and experience. Supra-conscious dreaming is also the source of premonition dreams, lucidity of the future, as well as access to the past.
This understanding of multiple realities is of great importance in dream work, psychological interventions and energetic healing work. It is of great importance in dream interpretation and lucid dreaming, for we must know the forces at play in all levels of dreaming, including that of “shadow dream” work so as not to cause more harm than good. Dreams of the subconscious for the typical person, are principally dreams of left over impressions from one’s physical past, habitual patterns, emotions, attitudes, impressions of experiences, suppressions, repression, etc. According to the ancient seers and sage the shadow elements of the subconscious have many elements – and also many forms of energy.
